LED ZEPPELIN World Tour Exhibition To Launch In Australia
March 30, 2007Australia's ABC North Coast NSW reports:
A series of photographs taken of LED ZEPPELIN's much-celebrated Sydney concert in the summer of 1972 by local photographer, Ted Harvey, has become the foundation of a Led Zeppelin World Tour exhibition.
The exhibition, being launched at the Lismore Regional Gallery on Wednesday April 4, also includes artworks from well-known national and local artists. Gallery Director Steven Alderton says the exhibition is impressive.
"Robert Plant particularly was impressed and he said to Ted over the years, these are the best photos ever taken of LED ZEPPELIN.
"They are really definitive and capture Robert Plant and Jimmy Page...the whole band right through the concert."
Steven says the images were long forgotten in a drawer somewhere until Ted unexpectedly came across them two years ago.
"We had a quick One Night Stand exhibition back then to get us ready for this show. Ted hadn't seen these photos for 30 years and stumbled across them and we've put them all together. We have got over 40 photos of the band on that Sunday afternoon in Sydney. They are very good photos, very descriptive."
